Deutsche Bank Children's Charity Christmas Party

As Deutsche Bank is a long standing client, every year Melville Wilson does their Children’s Charity Christmas party.

This event was the Refilwe Aids orphanage and we entertained the little Aids orphans with face painters, clowns, magicians and loads of wonderful goodies to eat.

Each child went home with a school bag full of school items and some clothes.

Deutsche Bank Family Day at JHB Zoo

The annual Deutsche Bank Family Day, which took place at the Johannesburg Zoo, was well attended.

The children were entertained with jumping castles, giant slides, tug-of-war, and a very interesting treasure hunt, while the adults casually relaxed on picnic blankets listening to a string quartet and sipping champagne.

Deutsche Bank End-of-Year Function

2005 marked the 10-year celebrations for Deutsche Bank in South Africa and we decided to put on an extra special year-end function for the staff.

It was held at Hazeldene Hall in a wonderfully decorated marquee. We went with an African Chic theme and everyone dressed accordingly.

Long service awards were given to the staff who had been with the company for more than 10 years. Everyone danced the night away until 4am.

“Wonderful to see the staff staying so late and having such a ball. The best year-end function to date.”

Switch Design Year-End Party

Switch Design, a graphic design company, held their annual year-end function at Adega’s in Peter Place.

We decorated the restaurant in their corporate colours and all the staff sat down to a wonderful seafood platted accompanied by interesting cocktails.

The DJ got the party going and everyone danced the night away until the early hours of the morning.

“Thank you to Helen Melville for making this year’s year-end function so successful and for running the event so professionally.”

Oando Launch

Oando, from Nigeria, was the first foreign company to be listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the launch of this took place at the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton.

Russel Laubscher from the JSE opened the evening along with Oando’s CEO and president. Lighthouse Family put on a wonderful live show for the guests and dignitaries.

Kenneth Cole Accessories Launch

African Sales Company launched the new Kenneth Cole fragrance at the Park Hyatt Hotel. Along with the launch of the new fragrance, they auctioned off Kenneth Cole products from the USA – a first ever.

Celebrities such as Amy Kleynhans and Gerry Rantselli snapped up the gorgeous products on auction.

All proceeds went to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.

IRMSA Annual Dinner

The Institute of Risk Management in South Africa held their annual dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Sandton. They launched the Risk Manager of the Year award.

The guests were entertained by Kate Normington and Luciano Zuppa.

Weddings and Private Functions

Melville Events has been involved in numerous weddings and private functions throughout South Africa.

This is an area for which Melville events CEO Helen Melville has a particular love.

Avis Ladies International Polo

Melville Events was instrumental in the running of the first Avis Ladies International Polo tournament at Inanda Country Club.

South Africa was playing England on the field while the guests were entertained in beautifully decorated marquees with decks overlooking the polo field.

African Sales Company launched their new fragrance from Mont Blanc Femme Individual and we dressed their marquee in baby pink with beautiful flowers by Helen Melville.

Lady's Polo

The posh picnic site was catered by Vicky Crease and was sponsored by Clarins. The food and decor were superb.

We dressed Avis’ tent in their traditional red and white, with beautiful roses that Vicky Crease supplied.

“It was an honor to work with Helen Melville and to be part of such a professionally run event. It made Avis proud to be the main sponsor.” – Nic Griffen
